Calendar for tango events of the Auckland tango community; categorised and colour coded for tango classes and workshops, milongas, practicas and tango festivals. The calendar can be viewed in a variety of formats (e.g. posterboard, agenda, stream, month, week, etc) by using the filter on the right.

Vodka Room Tuesday Milonga @ Vodka Room

The Vodka Room in Ponsonby has offered us their beautiful function room upstairs for Tango.

Following the successful trial Milonga on Wednesday 11 October, the Vodka Room owners and management have kindly agreed that there can be a Milonga every Tuesday except when the room is hired.

Each Tuesday there will be a free lesson at 7.30pm followed at 8.30pm sharp by the Milonga. The free tango classes are aimed at complete beginners to introduce Tango, and provide enough information do some simple tango moves at the Tuesday Milongas at the Vodka Room (or at the Muddy Farmer on Tuesdays when the Vodka Room isn’t available).

~ How to find the Auckland Art Gallery Amphitheatre? ~

Facing the main entrance of the Art Gallery from the outside: Walk up the stairs on your left, then continuing onto the second set of stairs on your right towards Albert Park (the Art Gallery’s coffee shop is also on your right). You will come to an open area under a beautiful roof where you can view inside of the Art Gallery, that is the Amphitheatre.

Follow the ‘Yellow’ strip on the map off Wellesley Street E (opposite Princes Street), you will come to an archway on your left; turn left after the archway, you will come to a glass sliding door in front of you to the University Gym; enter you will find the studio on you left.
