Special request at this time, for the consideration of fellow tangueros and their families: Please bring your own hand sanitiser and use it between Tandas. We’ll also be keeping a contact list for those who attend. Gracias.
This Practica aims to provide a friendly, welcoming space to practice dancing tango.
There are no teachers as such – but help and feedback from other dancers is welcomed. We play music in Tandas but there isn’t a set format for how you make the most of your afternoon. You can work on your own individual tango skills at your pace (with a partner) and can talk with friends and other dancers there, to get some informal help or advice on anything that is not working out. Mistakes are allowed!
The hall is air conditioned in Summer, warm in Winter … and we can open the doors along one side to the deck during the seasons in between.
We always enjoy a home-baked afternoon tea as a feature of this Practica … it’s included in the $10 entry fee 🙂
The Taitamariki Guide Hall in Takapuna just five minutes drive over the Harbour Bridge; or 10-15 minutes walk from the Akoranga Station on the Northern Express Busway from Britomart. There’s plenty of parking near the hall – You can use the parking spaces marked “Permit Holders Only”; or park around the back of the hall. To find us, take the entrance to the Reserve off Auburn Street (directly opposite Como Street). The hall is right at the end of the cul-de-sac.
