 m – Practica\nAbout ME\n\nI am originally from Malaysia and spent most o
 f my adult life in England. In 2013\, I came to Auckland with a two-year t
 ravel plan\, intending to return to London after that… and I’m still h
 ere.\nMy tango journey began 14 years ago\, an ordinary person with a 9-to
 -5 job and no dance background walked into a tango class in London. Since 
 then\, the love and passion for tango have stayed with me.\nAfter moving t
 o Auckland\, I began travelling to Buenos Aires every year to continue my 
 tango journey\, learning from some of the most respected and inspiring tea
 chers there. I also immersed myself in the culture\, engaging in conversat
 ions with the great milongueros and milonga-hopping (social dancing) most 
 nights until the early hours of the morning — sometimes until 6am. Hones
 tly\, I have never seen the morning of Buenos Aires.\nMy passion is to int
 roduce the new generation to this captivating and beautiful dance and to h
 elp grow the tango community. I began teaching tango in 2016 at Auckland U
 niversity of Technology and now teach at Pasión Por Tango studio (¡Tango
  Otra Vez!). In addition to teaching\, I organise milongas\, DJ\, give pri
 vate lessons\, guest teach at events such as Latin Fiesta NZ\, and perform
  at various functions.\nFor me\, tango is a sensual dance that comes from 
 the heart and complements the music — less is more.\nAbout the Classes\n
 I teach authentic tango as it is danced in the milongas of Buenos Aires an
 d around the world.\nMy classes are engaging\, fun and informal\, with a f
 ocus on technique\, musicality\, and developing the partnership. The class
 es cover the fundamentals\, giving you the confidence to dance socially wi
 th anyone at the milonga.\nTango is more than just a dance form\, and you 
 will discover its depth throughout your journey with me.\n*What is Milonga
 ? The term “Milonga” has three meanings: (1) A style of Tango\; (2) Ta
 ngo music genre\; (3) A social event or location for tango dancing. Here\,
  we are referring to (3).\nAuthentic Tango\nTango is a culture and necessi
 ty – particularly in the hearts of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Tango be
 came a symbol that reflected the music and folks' way of living and emerge
 d in the 19th Century. This style of dancing is social and unique in the g
 enre of music.\nThe beauty of Tango is in its improvisation\; there is no 
 set sequence or steps to follow\; and we dance with different partners all
  the time. No two tango dances are ever the same.\nClass Benefits\nAs Tang
 o isn’t built around learning rigid steps or sequences\, it’s both gre
 at fun and relaxing especially after a tough day of studying or working. I
 t’s also a great form of exercise both physically and mentally. It’s a
 lso a fantastic way to meet people and make new friends.\nDo I need to Sig
 n Up?\nNo sign up required.\nWhat should I wear?\nClothing that is comfort
 able to move around in. For footwear\, wear shoes that you can pivot easil
 y and don't stick to the wooden floor.\nDirection to the Studio &amp\; Car
  Park?\nWhen you arrive to the address\, you will see a building named "Pa
 risian Building" on your right and on the left is a car park which is free
  for the dancers(**). Follow the road around to your right (Parisian Build
 ing is now on your left)\, you will come across a metal gate on your left\
 , walk down the stair you will see the studio.\n(**) If you park behind an
 other car in the car park\, please do not assume the owner in front of you
  is also attending the same event as you\; please leave a note and contact
