Auckland is in lock-down till 11.59pm Sunday 30 August

Auckland will be in Level 3 lock-down until Sunday 30 August, because of an outbreak of COVID-19, from when it is intended to move to Level 2 for the following week.

The Auckland lock-down was extended on 24 August from 26 August to 30 August. The rest of New Zealand remains in Level 2.

The Ministry of Health guidelines for Level 3 (and Level 2) are set out on the MOH website at https://covid19.govt.nz/everyday-life/gatherings-and-events/

Gatherings and events at Alert Level 3

Gatherings of people create a very high risk of transmitting COVID-19. At Alert Level 3, there are tight restrictions on gatherings.

Gatherings must be only up to 10 people. You must only gather for:

* funerals and tangihanga
* wedding ceremonies, but not receptions.
Keeping these gatherings small means the risk of community transmission stays low.

Workplaces, education facilities, public transport and supermarkets are not considered gatherings.

If a gathering goes ahead, there are additional steps the attendees must take to ensure the gathering is safe.

You must keep 2 metres distance from people who aren’t in your bubble and wash your hands regularly throughout the event. You are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering.

Don’t attend if you have COVID-19 symptoms, or if you need to be isolation/quarantine for any reason.
