We welcome back the world renowned and lovely Cecilia Gonzalez joined this time with Blas Rivera for a memorable Musicality and Technique Immersion that is going to change your dancing. Cecilia and Blas will teach a selection of their exciting Musicality and Tango Technique workshops in Auckland, Nelson and Christchurch.
Cecilia’s classes are always progressive and we advise booking for the entire weekend to get maximum benefit.
- The Auckland and Christchurch workshops have the same content and cover 5 workshops.
- The Nelson workshops are totally different from the other two and cover two workshops. The Arts Festival will be on in Nelson at the same time – so there are many other things you can do if you come to Nelson at this time.
- There will be milongas and a performance from Blas in each city, with major performances being in Christchurch (ARA) and Nelson (The Playhouse Theatre).
- In Christchurch we are teaming up with Frank’s Vuelvo al Sur over Labour weekend. Email Frank for more info on tangovibe@gmail.com.

Workshop 2 : 11.30am – 1pm
Perception and understanding of several musical elements: Rhythm, bit, time, phrasing, silence (rests), identification of “levare”
Workshop 3 : 2pm – 3.30pm
Applying musicality concepts of workshop 2 into the dance

Workshop 4 : 11am – 12.30pm
Tango combinations, small turns, gentle voleos and fun!
Workshop 5 : 1.30pm – 3pm
Analysing a musical piece in order to perceive all components with guidance for interpretation
